I would be honored to serve on the Morristown partnership Board of Trustees having been a long-time Morris County resident since 1998. I care deeply about the future direction and prosperity of the Morristown community where my husband and I raised our family benefitting from the incredible Morristown ecosystem. We have participated in and benefited from Morristown’s historic evolution into the vibrant community it has become right in front of our eyes over the past 25+ years. In addition to being part of the Morristown community as a family, we have also invested in Morristown as property and business owners and are looking to help Morristown rise to new heights.

Along with owning an Enterprise AI Consulting firm, Freshriver.ai, headquartered in Morristown, my husband and I are also commercial property owners in Morristown including an ice cream shop, Surreal Creamery, on Washington Street. These experiences have given me a front row seat at the opportunities and challenges for businesses to launch and operate in Morristown along with understanding what it’s like to work, live, play and shop in this vibrant town.

My educational background and experience in Technology and a Master’s in Business Administration enabled me to build a 22 year career in New Jersey leading teams at Fortune 500 Enterprises such as AT&T, developing innovative technologies and driving business transformations. Coupled with varying experiences at Large, Mid-Sized and Small Enterprises along with Owning and Operating a Fortune 500 Enterprise focused Artificial Intelligence Consulting practice launched in 2018, I have a broad and deep range of expertise managing Financials, Marketing, Branding, Technology, Project Management, Collaboration and Business Development. Through my businesses and volunteer work I have deep and broad connections across New Jersey and New York, both professionally and personally that will benefit Morristown’s growth objectives.

It would be a privilege to use my skills to give back as a trustee ensuring revenue generation, responsible spending, providing guidance for sustainable growth, transparency and making decisions serving residents’ best interests. Above all, I look forward to collaborating with Residents, Board members and other stakeholders when making informed decisions and committing to keeping our unique, vibrant township a place current and future generations will be proud to call home. I appreciate your consideration and look forward to making Morristown the most-sought after destination in the nation.

Learning Express Toys of Morristown

Hi, my name is Amanda Bowser, I am the manager of Learning Express Toys of Morristown. I am a proud MHS alum and have ten years of retail experience here in town. As a member of the retail community, I am active in forming relationships and communication with other business in town as well as bringing issues to the Morristown Town Council.

As a member of the Morristown Beautiful Board, I am committed to Morristown’s cleanliness and welcoming environment.

I look forward to the opportunity to join the Morristown Partnership Board and aiding in committees relating to marketing and driving the mission to Think Local, Shop Morristown.

I’ve lived in the Morristown area for most of my life and the last nine have been spent living near the Green. I moved my business to Morristown in May of 2021. As both a resident and business owner I have a vested interest in the town’s success. My wife and I thoroughly enjoy being in Morristown and do our best to support local businesses and the community. I’m also a corporate sponsor at MPAC as I appreciate the impact their presence has on the town and attend shows there often. I have considerable board experience having served as President and board member for the Morris Plains Rotary Club and Morris Plains Little League. Closer to home, I am currently serving as a board member for my condo association. I spend a considerable amount of time walking around town and feel like I have a good handle on some issues that could be addressed to further enhance the town’s image and I think I have much to share. I’m prepared to offer my time and effort to help achieve the partnership’s objectives.

Election Information

Self-nominations for five seats on the Morristown Partnership Special Improvement District’s (SID) Board of Trustees are accepted in March of each year, an election is conducted in April.

In order to be listed on the Ballot of Nominees, you must be an SID member (an owner of commercial real estate (Class 1 or 4) that is subject to assessment or the owner of a business, or the authorized representative and employee of an owner of a business, located in an assessed property within the Special Improvement District; specific requirements can be found in the Corporation’s By-Laws).  This would exclude church, governmental, non-profit or owner-occupied residential properties.

Annually, there are five (5) seats available for three-year terms beginning May 1 and ending April 30.

Voting

You are entitled to vote if you are a commercial property owner or business owner paying a special assessment in the Special Improvement District, or the official designee of the property or business owner.

Paper ballots will be mailed and available for download.

Each assessed property has one vote and must be cast by the entity, or entities, which own(s) the property.  Only one ballot may be cast for each such entity.  Each “bona fide” business located within the Special Improvement District (a business with a separate and distinct existence from all other businesses located at the same property) also has one vote.

Ballots must be returned to Morristown Partnership for tabulation, by the League of Women Voters, by the posted deadline.
