Star-Making Workshop – MPAC Arts in The Community Presents: Theatre of Light 2023

Event Description:
The universal symbol of light will illuminate the rich cultural diversity of our community when Mayo Performing Arts Center transforms the Vail Mansion Plaza into our fourth annual “Theatre of Light.” A curtain of stars and lights will welcome the community onto the Vail Plaza for this free evening of celebration. Specially lit magical winged dancers will perform while enchanted creatures and puppets roam about in dazzling colors. There will be music, dance, ice carving and craft-making from a variety of community artists. Oh, and did we mention the elephant? Keep a lookout for Ellie the Elephant!
This year’s event will include participation and/or performances from the following community artists:
Lighting by BML Blackbird
Henna painting by Mehndikalogie
Live ice carving by Okamoto Studio
Performances by the MPAC Performing Arts Company
Performances by the Unity Steppers – Morristown Neighborhood House
LED winged dancers and LED juggler via Fluxion Entertainment
Music from DJ Arjun: Bollywood, hip hop, world music and more
Stop by one of our upcoming community workshops to make a star! These stars created by the members of our community will become an integral part of the evening’s light display.
