Creature Comfort Pet Therapy Celebrates National Therapy Animal Day on April 30 in Morristown
Date: April 30, 2025
Event Time: 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Event Description:
Creature Comfort Pet Therapy, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing pet therapy visits for people in need, is happy to announce a community celebration on April 30 in honor of National Therapy Animal Day. This special day recognizes the beneficial healing impact that animals have on humans by providing comfort, support, and smiles for individuals in need.
Creature Comfort Pet Therapy is a 14 year old non-profit organization that certifies pets and their owners to do pet therapy. Started in Morris County, the organization has grown to be highly active in 9 counties in New Jersey. They schedule and manage visits in a variety of facilities such as hospitals, nursing homes, schools, libraries, courthouses, rehabilitation centers, and companies. With over 275 volunteer teams, each consisting of a certified volunteer owner and their pet (dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and a mini-goat), Creature Comfort does approximately 7,000 therapy visits a year at over 300 facilities. In total, they touch more than 150,000 people annually, bringing joy and “cold noses warming hearts.”
On April 30th, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown, Creature Comfort Pet Therapy will be presented with a Resolution from Assemblywoman Aura K. Dunn and a Proclamation from the Morristown Mayor’s office and Councilman Chris Russo, honoring the significant work this organization provides for the community. Join them between the hours of 4:00pm to 7:00pm, and help raise awareness about the benefits of animal-assisted activities. Participants can visit with certified pet therapy animals, take memorable pictures, browse vendors and learn all about how to become part of this profoundly impactful mission. Join Creature Comfort on April 30th, to meet our furry companions and the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to provide the healing power of animals to those in need.
